The Cable News Network is an American basic cable and satellite television channel that is owned by the Turner Broadcasting System division of Time Warner. The 24-hour cable news channel was founded in 1980 by American media proprietor Ted Turner.


 

Yahoo News originated as a pure Internet-based news aggregator by Yahoo. It categorized news into “Top Stories”, “U.S. National”, “World”, “Business”, “Entertainment”, “Science”, “Health”, “Weather”, “Most Popular”, “News Photos”, “Op/Ed”, and “Local News,” a format it still largely uses today.

 


 

 

The Huffington Post (sometimes abbreviated Huff Post or HuffPo) is an American online news aggregator and blog founded by Arianna Huffington, Kenneth Lerer, Andrew Breitbart, and Jonah Peretti, featuring columnists. The site offers news, blogs, and original content and covers politics, business, entertainment, environment, technology, popular media, lifestyle, culture, comedy, healthy living, women’s interests, and local news.

 


 

Google News is a free news aggregator provided and operated by Google Inc, selecting most up-to-date information from thousands of publications by an automatic aggregation algorithm.

Launched in September 2002, the service was tagged as a beta test for over three years until January 2006. The initial idea was developed by Krishna Bharat.

As of August 2013, approximately 97,186,000 American households (85.1% of cable, satellite & telco customers) receive the Fox News Channel. The channel broadcasts primarily from studios at Rockefeller Center in New York City.

 


 

NBC News is the news division of the American broadcast network NBC. The division operates under NBCUniversal News Group, a subsidiary of NBCUniversal. The group’s various operations report to the president of NBC News, Deborah Turness.

 


 

The Wall Street Journal is an American English-language international daily newspaper with a special emphasis on business and economic news. It is published six days a week in New York City by Dow Jones & Company, a division of News Corp, along with the Asian and European editions of the Journal.

 


 

ABC News is the news gathering and broadcasting division of the American Broadcasting Company, a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company. Its flagship program is World News with Diane Sawyer; other programs include morning show Good Morning America, Nightline, newsmagazine shows Primetime and 20/20, and Sunday morning political affairs program This Week with George Stephanopoulos.

 


 

BBC News is an operational business division of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) responsible for the gathering and broadcasting of news and current affairs. The department is the world’s largest broadcast news organisation and generates about 120 hours of radio and television output each day, as well as online news coverage. The service maintains 44 foreign news bureaux and has correspondents in almost every country. James Harding, a former editor of The Times newspaper, was named on 16 April 2013 as Director of News and Current Affairs.
